Franklin

Based on a series of books by Brenda Clark (writer) and Paulette Bourgeois (illustrator), Franklin is a children's television series named after its main character, Franklin Turtle.

The series first aired in November, 1997; and originally ended its run in May, 2000. Five seasons were produced, but only the first four were widely available, as the fifth had been produced but originally was never directly released. The television series is produced by Nelvana Entertainment; the books have been published by Scholastic.

Franklin is a show that is about the main character Franklin the turtle. Each episode stars Franklin and his friends on many adventures. Each episode consits of two stories. Each story teaches the biewer (mostly children) a lesson or two. From the viewer learing about riding a bike to telling the truth is what will be seen in each episode. Franklin's best friend is Bear and he also hangs around with Snail, Beaver, Fox, and Rabbit.  Although Franklin can count be two's and tie his shoes he is learning something new in eache episode.

Franklin is currently airing on Noggin at 11:00 A.M and 2:30 P.M. New episodes may air later this year.

Franklin, which originates from the popular children’s books written by Paulette Bourgeois, is an irrepressible turtle who, together with his forest friends, works his way through everyday dilemmas. Targeted toward children aged three to seven, Franklin learns how he fits into the world and how the world fits him. Like most children, Franklin learns by making mistakes. When he fibs, gets lost, or acts bossy, he usually finds solutions himself learning lessons the Franklin way.
